Bonjour, Des Amies,
I have been making my living with my art for thirty years. Moving to France twenty five years ago, changed my life and work. Upon arriving in Paris, I had the sense that I was finally where I belonged. Just days later, my work was accepted by one of the oldest and most renowned Galleries in the City, and my career was launched to a whole new level.
Regarding my art, my goal is not necessarily to depict a subject as it looks literally, but rather, the way it feels to me. Paintings of mine are Naive in style, and are infused with color. Conveying a sense of joy within each work, is tantamount. Inanimate objects look animated. Although the works are romantic or poetic, as an Artist I would fall under the category of "Intimist", based on the fact that subjects are typically looking straight at the viewer, which creates a relationship between the two. While optimistic and light at first glance, my figures often indicate a deeper, more contemplative character below the surface.
Now, living on the Cote' D'Azur, my love affair with France continues. Every single day, I am still inspired. In an area where lovely towns line the Mediterranean, and quaint villages dot the hills above the sea, I am never at a loss for scenic views with which to fill my canvases. Not a day in France goes by, that I don't pause several times, to give thanks for the life I have been gifted.
Over the years, my Paintings have been represented by Fine Art Galleries in the USA and Canada, Japan, France, Germany, and the UK. I am delighted to have clients all over the world collecting my works.
Besides my Fine Art and images I create for the purpose of licensing to publishers, I have illustrated several Children's Books. The cleverly written series "Bon Bon, Voyage" (about a curious red head who circles the globe making discoveries) by Kirby Fopma has been my favorite illustration project to date. I continue to do freelance Illustrating, with another project in the works that will be released later this year.
If you are just discovering my work for the first time, I want to welcome you. I am delighted to be making your acquaintance through the language of art.
